The View From my Front Porch

I have always hoped that some day Rob and I would have more time to sit on our front porch in the evenings and just soak in the quietness of the countryside. It does happen occasionally but not as often as I would like. It's no fun to sit on the front porch by oneself but we have a view that never ceases to charm me, so I started taking pictures at random. On days when it is hazy the mountains hide..

On clear days it is picture perfect!

On Sunday evenings it doesn't take much to shatter the quiet. You can hear the clip clop of the horse and buggy coming long before you can see it.

If the neighbors are having a young folks gathering you see a lot of interesting things!

This year my lilac bushes out did themselves! They have gotten so big they are starting to hide the view! Their fragrance wafts around the house and out to the barn, embracing everything in its path.

During the day as the guys chop hay in front of the house, the porch is a pleasant place to sit and watch. It's also convenient for handing out lunches and cold drinks.

After spending two full days planting corn an hour away, (the drive with the tractor and planter took two hours), I was thrilled to see him drive in the driveway.

I do occasionally have some smaller company on the front porch, but they often get buggy and you never know what they may get in to, so I wouldn't call it very restful. Oh, yes! they say one man's junk is another man's treasure. I say, be careful what you dump out on our property, you may see it in our flower beds!!

. "Grandma, can you give flowers too much water?"

These are just a few of the sights I see from my front porch.
The Front Porch = a lifetime of memories!
